Florida paid George Rekers $300 an hour for “expert” testimony against gay adoption

”A total of 402.31 hours was submitted for payment by invoice attached. Of the 402.31 hours, 203 was paid by Direct Order…. We accept responsibility for not obtaining a written document for the 199.31 remaining hours. However, the monies are legally due.”

Sandi Copes, described the the Miami Herald as communications director for the Florida Attorney General‘s Office. The paper reports that the George Rekers, formerly a member of both the insidious Family Research Council (FRC) and the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), $60,000 in 2007 and another $59,793 in 2009. As most people have heard by now, Rekers was photographed at an airport last month returning from a European trip with a gay male escort in tow. The escort has said that he performed daily nude massages on Rekers, and that he enjoyed their time together. Rekers claims he is not gay. (Miami Herald)
