After four years with the Capital Pride Alliance, Anna Jinkerson is stepping down from its board of directors, which she has chaired for the past 10 months.
Jinkerson announced her departure in a September 18 letter to fellow board members, saying her resignation will take effect on September 30, 2026. The letter was obtained by Metro Weekly, and Jinkerson confirmed its authenticity.
In her letter, Jinkerson described herself as the first queer woman to serve as chair in Capital Pride's history.
While largely expressing gratitude for her time with the organization, Jinkerson also pointed to internal divisions that made leading the board difficult.
Joseph LoGiudice, the founder and clinical director of Manhattan's Liberation Psychotherapy, an LGBTQ-centered practice, has been indicted on charges of sexually assaulting two patients, including allegedly raping a man in his 30s in his office.
According to prosecutors, the patient -- who was attending therapy to cope with a sexual assault -- told LoGiudice he did not want to have sex because he was recovering from anal surgery.
At an October 1 bail hearing, Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Claudia Khoury-Yacoub alleged that LoGiudice began sexually exploiting the patient shortly after he joined the therapy group in fall 2022.
A former Australian police officer has pleaded not guilty to murdering his ex-boyfriend and the man's new partner, as prosecutors describe months of alleged stalking before the two men were shot in Sydney.
Prosecutors say Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, watched the Sydney home of his former boyfriend, TV presenter Jesse Baird, before entering dressed as an Uber Eats delivery worker. He is accused of shooting Baird, 26, and Baird's partner, Luke Davies, a 29-year-old flight attendant.
Baird cut off contact with Lamarre-Condon in November 2023. In his opening statement, prosecutor Brett Hatfield SC said Lamarre-Condon had developed an "obsessive and jealous infatuation" with Baird, and that his behavior escalated after the relationship ended.
