Florida Governor Charlie Crist seems confused: Can’t say he’s for or against gay adoption ban [video]

”It was the law on the books. I was the former Attorney General. I had a sworn duty –…. I didn’t say I liked it, I said I would enforce it! … [Pauses after reporter tell Crist he said ‘Children do best in a home with a mother and a father.’] Has that changed? No. I think what’s changed is we have a court ruling that says the law is unconstitutional…. And I respect the law.”

Crist has not been supportive of adoption by gay families and had posted on his site that “traditional marriage” was “attacked” by proposals for same-sex marriage equality.

Crist is now running for Senate as an Idependent instead of a Republican. Many observers believe that, as a so-called “moderate,” he would have lost last month’s Republican Primary election.

Regarding the next Governor, a Rassmussen poll was released today that has Tea Party-backed Republican Rick Scott slightly leading the Democratic candidate Alex Sink. Reportedly, Sink is against the adoption ban, yet is also against gay marriages. She says she believes marriage is ”an entirely religious decision,” and she prefers civil unions for same-sex couples.
