Tracy Morgan apologizes for saying ‘stupid sh*t’ about gays

According to GlobalGrind.com, Tracy Morgan appeared on Def Comedy Jam to speak about his recent comments that many have perceived as being anti-gay and reckless in regards to bullying and children.

Morgan told Russell Simmons that he was sorry for his “hurtful” words and is committed to equal rights for everyone. Morgan said he is not on the side of bullies and that he doesn’t need anyone to defend his “indefensible” comments. He added that his “unfiltered” style leads him to say “really stupid shit” sometimes. And in regards to claiming that he would stab a whining gay son, Morgan said (GlobalGrind.com):

”The truth is if I had a gay son, I would love him just as much as if he was straight … I might have to try to love even more because I know of the difficulty that he would have in society.”

It’s a welcome apology, certainly, but still no word as to why Morgan has repeatedly said that being gay is a choice.
