US Representative and candidate for Senate celebrates LGBT accomplishments

On Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) addressed the 15th annual Human Rights Campaign national dinner. After being introduced by longtime HRC board of directors member Bruce Bastian, Baldwin told the crowd — to thunderous applause — “I’m Tammy Baldwin, and I’m running for Senate.” Baldwin has announced that she is seeking the Democratic nomination in 2012 for the Senate seat currently held by Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wisc.), who is retiring at the end of this term.
