Rahsaan Patterson is at The Birchmere on Thursday

Named after ’60s jazz saxophonist Rahsaan Roland Kirk, the openly gay Rahsaan Patterson is probably best known for portraying The Kid on the popular ’80s television show Kids Incorporated â€" starring alongside Fergie, Mario Lopez and pop singer Martika, who gave him his start as a backup singer. But once the child actor grew up, he became a respected if under-the-radar neo-soul singer. Thursday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. The Birchmere, 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria. Tickets are $55. Call 703-549-7500 or visit birchmere.com.
