Foster the People tonight at Merriweather

If you wanna run from the Capital Pride Festival, you better do it as fast as Mark Foster’s gun if you want to catch his psychedelic-tipped pop band’s concert tonight, Sunday, June 10, at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Foster and his People — bassist Cubbie Fink and drummer Mark Pontius — had one of last year’s biggest hits, “Pumped Up Kicks.” Meanwhile, one of this year’s biggest, Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” features jazzy soul vocalist Kimbra — and the New Zealander is the first of Foster The People’s opening acts. British new wave-styled pop band The Kooks is the other. Sunday, June 10. Doors at 5:30 p.m. Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, Md. Tickets are $35 to $45.
