As summer ends, Rehoboth parties

sundance09_dance.jpgRehoboth Beach plans to mark the unofficial end of summer with a Labor Day weekend party.

CAMP Rehoboth will host Sundance, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The event is one of the LGBT community center’s largest fundraisers.

With the theme “Circus of the Summer Sun,” Sundance will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center with a live and silent auction of more then 500 items. The centerpiece of the auction is a European cruise from Accent on Travel, with a choice of over 50 itineraries. It includes a balcony stateroom for two, 7 to 14 days of travel, and is good from May to October of 2014. Guests will be treated to a buffet by Matt Haley’s Plate Catering, desserts by Touch of Italy and an open bar.

On Sunday, Sept. 1, the convention center will transform into a nightclub for an evening of dancing and open bar, with music by DJ Mark Thomas and lighting by Paul Turner.

Tickets are $80 for both events or $45 for one event. More information is available at camprehoboth.com or by calling (302) 227-5620.
