Vice President Biden: It’s outrageous we’re even debating ENDA

“If you think about it, it’s outrageous we’re even debating this subject. I really mean it. I mean it’s almost beyond belief that today, in 2014, I could say to you, as your employee in so many states, you’re fired, because of who you love.”

— U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, in a speech at a Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles, discussing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). ENDA would make it illegal to discriminate against someone based on gender identity and sexual orientation. Vice President Biden stated that it was “close to barbaric” that a person could still be fired because of their sexuality or gender identity. (HRC)
