Egyptian men arrested for “same-sex” wedding test negative for homosexuality

“According to inspection, the seven suspects have never had sex with other men.”

— Egyptian forensic authority spokesperson Hisham Abdel-Hamid. The men in question participated in a “gay wedding,” which was videotaped and went viral last week. Those arrested were subjected to physical tests to determine whether or not they’d ever had anal sex with other men, and all “tested negative for homosexuality.” As homosexuality is not technically outlawed in Egypt, the men nonetheless face charges for “inciting debauchery.” The Human Rights Watch has called for them to be released, claiming that the reported anal examinations “violate international standards against torture.” Watch the video below.
