Gallery: Ira Tattelman’s Space Around Us at Photoworks

Space Around Us is the latest show at Photoworks Gallery

Ira Tattleman — Space around us: Thin Blue Lines, Arkansas

Ira Tattelman uses photography to document aspects of the built environment around him in a more playful and less direct way than you’d expect from a registered architect. In a new series of photographs curated by Iason Demos, Tattelman evinces more interest in images featuring bold colors and shapes, unexpected details, and odd, jumbled juxtapositions than he does in capturing obvious or traditional imagery of specific buildings, spaces, or places. Space Around Us is the latest show in the studio dedicated to portraiture in Maryland’s Historic Glen Echo Park. Now to May 20. Photoworks Gallery, 1st Floor of the Arcade Building, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, Md. Call 301-634-2274 or visit glenechophotoworks.org.
