Saturday, June 2

It’s A Prom!

Capital Trans Pride

A full day of activities marks Capital Pride’s first-ever event to celebrate the area’s transgender community. Free afternoon events include workshops covering legal, health and spiritual concerns and an informational fair featuring representatives from local organizations serving the transgender community. A screening of TransAmerica begins at 4:30. An awards dinner and dance (with DJ Lady Coco) caps the day’s festivities. $20 admission to the dance. Waterfront Metro station (Green line).

Town Hall Meeting: ”Building a Bridge to a Better Future”

Health and Wellness Night

Mr. and Miss Capital Pride Pageant

Honoring Victoria Jaymes (Miss Capital Pride 2006) and Eric Rainbow (Mr. Capital Pride 2006) and hosted by Patti Lovelace. These annual pageants celebrate the talents of those competing and the diversity of the LGBT community. The winners will appear on the main stage at Sunday’s festival and will represent Capital Pride throughout the coming year. Dupont Circle Metro (Red line).

Join over 200,000 people for this annual celebration. It’s a full day of vendors, non-profits who need your support and entertainment at both the Arts Stage (at 6th and Pennsylvania) and on the Mainstage. The Mainstage is hosted by emcees Randi ”Voice of Metro” Miller, Destiny B. Childs, and Derek Hartley and Frank DeCaro from Sirius Radio and features performances from Wicked Jezabel, Tom Goss, The Mesmers, God-Des and She, Rachel Panay, and Crystal Waters.
