Presented by the Latino LGBT History Project, this special event features a panel discussion, poetry, guest speakers, Latin appetizers and refreshments. After the program, the celebration continues at Club Fuego (1818 New York Ave. NE) with the DC Latino Pride Dance featuring fabulous performances from Anaconda Couture, Victoria Armani, Tamara Garcia and Diana Bustillo. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. and the show starts at 12:30 a.m. $15 cover.

The annual men’s party to kick-off the capstone weekend of the Capital Pride celebration. The night begins with a dynamic drag show hosted by Lena Lett and features fabulous performances by Shiqueeta Lee, Blair Michaels, Regina Jozet-Adams, Destiny B. Childs and Ophelia Bottoms. Downstairs music and video by BacK2bACk featuring Top 40, pop and classics. Upstairs main floor music by Wess playing high-energy, pop and house! And featuring the special host of the evening Christian Siriano (winner of Project Runway). Be careful as Christian will be walking the club with his own police women giving out ”hot mess” fashion citations! The evening also features an amazing stage production by X-Faction. Town is a proud sponsor of Capital Pride and will donate a portion of each admission to Capital Pride.

Capital Pride Parade
Steps off from 23rd and P Streets NW

The always-festive and colorful parade retains its ”hometown” feel as it marches through the heart of Dupont Circle. Wendy Rieger of NBC4 emcees at the reviewing stand in front of Whole Foods at 1440 P Street, and Bruce Vilanch is the celebrity grand marshal. DJ Brennan Sullivan emcees the new announcer’s stand at 18th and New Hampshire. See page 79 for a map of the parade route and page 76 for a listing of parade contingents as of press time. The Capital Pride Parade is presented by tangysweet.

Featuring NYC DJ Steve ”Chip Chop” Gonzales on the main floor from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. DJ Steven Henderson follows from 1-4 a.m. (DJ Audi delivers a delicious set of Hip Hop/R&B/Top 40/Dance for ladies only, from 9-10:30 p.m., in special section of the club.) The After Hours Party continues deep into the morning, featuring DJ Sin Morena while DJ Greg Praither spins in the Pride Lounge and DJ Damon spins in the Martini Lounge.

Capital Pride Street Festival

Join over 200,000 people for this annual celebration. It’s a full day of vendors, non-profits who need your support, and entertainment at both the Arts Stage (at Sixth and Pennsylvania) and on the Mainstage. The Main Stage is hosted by emcees Bruce Vilanch, Destiny B. Childs, and Derek and Romaine from Sirius Radio and features performances from Jason & deMarco, BETTY, Dario, Melange Lavonne, the DC Cowboys and more. Open to the public. Donations very welcome. Oak Hampton is the Official LED Screen Partner of the Capital Pride Festival. Donate with PRIDE — drop off a contribution of $1 at the festival entrance to support the future of Capital Pride.
