Donovan House becomes a Kimpton Hotel, offers 20% off promotion

DonovanHouse_Ext.jpgDonovan House, one of Washington, D.C.’s most chic hotels, is now being managed by the San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group.

Owned by LaSalle Hotel Properties and previously managed by Thompson Hotels, Donovan House is located at 1155 14th Street, N.W., just blocks from the White House. Known for its modern decor and rooftop pool, it offers nearly 200 rooms, ranging from a 222 sq. ft. Queen Deluxe Room to the 1,230 sq. ft. Donovan Suite. Donovan House is also home to acclaimed restaurant Zentan, whose celebrity chef Susur Lee has earned a devout following for his inventive, Asian-inspired cuisine.

Under the new Kimpton management, Donovan House will receive a light refresh to the interior spaces and rooftop area, while maintaining most of its decor and amenities. These changes include new pillows and other touches that reflect Kimpton’s nationwide standards such as the hosted evening wine reception, animal print robes, Kimpton InTouch loyalty program perks, pet-friendly practices and Kimpton’s EarthCare program, which includes more than 100 eco-friendly operating practices.

To celebrate the new management, Donovan House is offering a “Newbie” promotion, a 20% on its Best Available Rate for stays between May 27 and September 10, 2012. Reservations — which must be booked by May 2 — may be made online or by calling (800) 383-6900 and mentioning rate code NEWDC1

Kimpton is a member of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association and has received a rating of 100 percent in the Human Rights Campaign’s 2012 Corporate Equality Index, a rating it has held since 2004.
