Orbitz has a long-history and deep commitment to promoting tolerance, non-discrimination and equality as an integral part of our employment practices as well as our marketing efforts. As the only online travel company to have a perfect Corporate Equality Index Score from the Human Rights Campaign and a signatory to the Amicus Brief supporting the challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act, we applaud today’s Supreme Court decision.
In addition, Orbitz launched the Take Vacation Back/Marriage Equality Photo Contest that allows participants to submit images for an opportunity to win a trip to marriage-equality supporting destinations such as New York City, Seattle, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Paris.
Entrants who submit the upgrade code “EQUALITY” on the entry form will have the chance to win first or business class flights instead of coach. The contest includes five photo categories: Wedding/Honeymoon, Family Fun, Pride, Urban Escape and Outdoor Adventure.
Orbitz welcomes everyone to submit photos, gay or straight. Complete rules and information on entering the contest is available at orbitz.com/win through July 31.
Fellow NGLCC and IGLTA member Marriott also expressed its support for the Supreme Court’s ruling in a statement by Arne Sorenson the hotel company’s president and CEO.
