There's a refurbished dance floor, which will be flanked by tables and chairs. There's also an enhanced sound system and more lights. But the biggest change to the space once known as Badlands and Apex and re-opening next Friday, Feb. 10, as Phase 1 of Dupont, comes in the back area off the main dance floor. ''When people started calling me Jonny B, I said that's enough,'' laughs Chord Bezerra. ''So I started going by Chord to avoid that.'' His school's homage to the Miss America Pageant – right down to the swimsuit competition – had the hometown boy busing out onstage to ''It's Raining Men'' and winning his school's votes. No wonder the 20-year-old stuck ...[more]
It's hard not to think of Damien, 23, as the definition of badass. He's done some time in the Air Force (not for him, though he's considering trying the Army). He teaches kickboxing and a couple other combat sports. And he's one of the very few coverboys with a pistol on his nightstand. He may be a little more cautious, however, than G.I. Joe. ''I don't fight too much,'' he says of kickboxing. ''I try not to get hit in ...[more]
