Quote from a press release on Thursday’s appointment of Amanda Simpson by President Barack Obama to the position of Senior Technical Advisor to the Department of Commerce, which very likely makes her the first transgender appointee by a US President. According to sources she has an extensive and broad history of work experience for defense contractor Raytheon and on the board of directors of the National Center fro Transgender Equality. (NCTE)
