MTV asks rapper Solar if he had a “romantic” relationship with Guru

”That’s untrue, completely unfounded. Guru is a family man, I’m a family man. I don’t want to say anything against anybody living a certain type of lifestyle — everybody is free to live their life how they choose to live it — but that’s not my lifestyle or Guru’s lifestyle. We’re straight men. He dealt with women and family. I dealt with women and family. There’s never been any blurring of the lines whatsoever.”

Hip-hop artist Solar explaining his relationship with the late rapper Guru of Gang Starr. Apparently, there is some controversy over a “deathbed letter” allegedly written by Guru earlier this week as he was dying from a type of cancer. Bloggers and some media reports are claiming a controlling relationship between the two, and that there may have been more than just a friendship, which Solar is denying here. He tells MTV News that he looked to Guru “as a brother.” (MTV via NovaSlim)
