Another US soldier comes out gay on national TV news

”I am violating ‘don’t ask, don’t tell. And I understand if [my Commander] has to, he has to take the proceedings he does, because it is something he has to do. I am willing to take responsibility for this, I am willing to take anything that comes my way through this … it will be for a better cause and hopefully it might change or be something in the process to change the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.”

Sageant Anthony Bustos who came out publicly on ABC News as gay and an active member of the the US military to challenge the 13-year-old Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy ”give a voice and a face and to humanize something that seems so inhuman.” Bustos is one of several gay military members photographed by Jeff Sheng as part of a larger project that explores the lives of soldiers who are required to keep a core part of their lives secret.
