Twitter posts from hip-hop artist Wale (pronounced “wah-lay”) who was scheduled to be at Washington, DC’s Black Gay and Lesbian Pride Day next weekend. However, Metro Weekly broke the news late on Thursday that the booking of Wale, a native of the DC area, had been canceled. Organizers of the annual LGBT event seem to read the cancellation as being due to homophobic cold feet. The rapper himself seems to be saying he doesn’t know anything about this particular show. Wale does not appear to address an e-mail from his talent agent who said of his client, ”he feels mislead and regretfully declines” because ”the facts of the event were not disclosed.” (Twitter.com/wale)
