Ridiculous lawsuit against DC Baptist Church for performing gay marriage gets wide coverage [video]

”Why did I do it? It’s funny now, because, you know what? That’s not of God. I just got pissed off and did it…. I don’t believe in that [gay marriage]. I’m Southern Baptist and the Bible speaks against it…. I went to the wedding, because I didn’t believe it. I wanted to see it for myself. And I was like, this is totally disgusting. ”

Yvonne Moore who says she sued Covenant Baptist Church for a return of her estimated donations. The church’s pro-gay pastors Dennis and Christine Wiley have been strong advocates for same sex marriage in the District of Columbia, and tell CNN that they lost half of their congregation over the issue. Moore, who is an elderly African-American woman, says she’s retracted her lawsuit, and says she will not return to Covenant Baptist. But she says one of her friends is gay and that there may be “a point” made that there are similarities between the civil rights stuggles of blacks and gays. (CNN)
