Kurt on ‘GLEE’ gets a gay friend and a surprise smooch [video]

”Blaine is a really cool guy. It’s a dream come true as an actor to get to play someone so complex. He’s an out-and-proud student who goes to an all-boys school, which is similar to the all-boys school I had gone to. When I got to the set I was like, ‘How did they know?’…. I can’t confirm or deny [that I could be a love interest for Kurt]. I really don’t know how long I’ll be on the show. I will tell you that I’ve done more than one episode. I want to stay on as long as possible.”

[SPOILER ALERT]

In tonight’s episode Blaine sang an all-male chorus version of ”Teenage Dream” to the show’s regular gay character, Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer). The show also covered anti-gay bullying in a somewhat unexpected manner. One of the school’s jocks, Dave Karofsky (Max Adler) was physically harassing Kurt. After meeting the out and proud Blaine, Kurt confronted the bully. But in a surprise move, Karofsky grabbed Kurt’s head and planted a firm kiss on his lips, then ran off.

In related news, the gay media watchdog, GLAAD, recently criticized “GLEE” for using the word “tranny” in describing the “sweet transvestite” lead role in “The Rocky Horror Show.” A number or voices on the web are criticizing GLAAD’s decision to go after a show that is extremely gay-friendly and popular.
