Shug Avery from the original Broadway cast of The Color Purple, Elisabeth Withers is a Tony-nominated R&B singer/songwriter. She sang backup for Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez before venturing out on her own a few years ago with her neo-soul-stirring Blue Note debut, It Can Happen To Anyone.
