Rhianna returns to sex theme with video for ‘S&M’ [video]

”I may be bad, but I’m perfectly good at it.
Sex in the air, I don’t care, I love the smell of it.
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But chains and whips excite me.”

Rhianna and Perez Hilton, S&M

The rather cartoonish, omnisexual fantasy includes a lesbian lip lock of sorts. The Daily Mail has done a juxtaposition between this video and the colorful works of gay artist David LaChapelle. One shot features gay blogger Perez Hilton dressed in a pink chauffer’s outfit, pretending to be Rhianna’s dog while tethered to a leather harness. (Daily Mail)

YouTube/VEVO requires that visitors log in as a registered adult to watch the non-explicit but adult-themed content.

The world-famous pop singer previously explored same-sex desires and bondage themes with another video, “Te Amo.”

”When I go out to make something, I kind of go out with the intention to get it banned — [well] not to get it banned, I always want my stuff played — but to make something provocative.”

Melina Matsoukas, the director of Rhianna’s ”S&M” music video, telling MTV that the bold imagery fits the song’s theme. It was reported earlier that MTV had been seeking changes more suitable for its teenage audience, but Matsoukas indicates that this video is the first she’s done that has not required adjustments. Her work also includes many videos with Beyoncé and other pop/hip-hop artists. (MTV News)
