Elton John shows off baby Zachary; says Lady Gaga is godmother [video]
Pop icon and 68-year-old gay father Elton John tells ABC’s Barbara Walters that Lady Gaga is his son Zachary‘s godmother. Watch the full video online at ABC 20/20 (via Daily Mail).
“Yes, yes she is [godmother]…. When you get to the real person under there, there’s a real simple person under there who loves her parents.”
John and husband David Furnish became fathers via a surrogate mother in December 2010. When asked for details, Furnish, 48, told Walters:
“Considering Elton’s age, surrogacy seemed like the safest, quickest route to start a family…. We found a fantastic surrogate, a woman who had been a surrogate before. And an egg donor who we didn’t meet, that we chose through a profile…. We both contributed [sperm]…. At this stage, we don’t know [who is the biological father] because when we look at our son, we can see elements of Elton and we can see elements of me.”
