Gay magazine approved for distribution on military bases

Outserve, a new magazine launched earlier this year to serve the interests of lesbian and gay male servicemembers, says in a press release that it “has received approval to be distributed on Air Force and Army bases, and will be releasing the magazine in limited Air Force and Army base exchanges.”

The magzine’s executive director, J. Mills, expressed “gratitude to the military and distributors who have been very supportive.” And the co-director of the magazine’s parent organization (using the pseudonym JD Smith) remarked on the upcoming September issue which is to feature a photo gallery of Outserve members:

“By featuring their pictures and their stories, we are signaling that time has passed. It is time for these military members to be honored for their extraordinary commitment and sacrifice in defense of our country.”
