‘Ryan Idol’ convicted of attempted murder of girlfriend

Marc Anthony Donais, also know to the gay community as porn star Ryan Idol, has been convicted of attacking a former girlfriend. According to The Sacramento Bee, the Deputy District Attorney, Kevin Jones, said (SacBee.com):

“I think the jury was able to recognize that his narcissism and ego basically led him to where he was.”

The incident occurred in Sacramento, Calif., in 2009. Donais went to his former girlfriend’s home to confront her over a recent break up. He punched her then hit her in the head with the top of a porcelain toilet. She kicked him and knocked him into a bathtub, then ran away. He later went to the hospital with a shard of porcelain in his arm. Donais’ claimed to have been defending himself from his ex-girlfriend because she had a knife. CBS 13 reports that he faces a 15-year prison sentence.

The Bee reports that the pair had a history dating back to the early 1990s, but she left him after discovering his work in the gay film industry. Many years later, she noticed that Donais had been acting on Broadway. The couple then rekindled their relationship. However, in 2009, she says she caught Donais having sex with a male lover — a man who had purchased the California condo in which Donais and the woman were living.

Below is a recent video (May 2011) of video director ChiChi Larue and Donais discussing, in explicit sexual terms, work he had done on a 1994 video called “Idol Country.” Eventhough it’s a fond recollection, Larue includes an eyebrow-raising claim that “my star had told me he was going to kill me with a bat.”
