New Jersey Mayor steps down after gay escort scandal
”At this time, I feel it’s time to pass the baton, and allow others to take the reins and lead our town forward. My work commitments will not allow me to devote the time that is needed in the months ahead. That is why, today, I am resigning from the Medford Township Council, effective immediately.”

According to news reports, a scandalous website had been created by a disgruntled male escort that prominently featured photos of Myers in his underwear, along with an ATM receipt, and what appeared to be Myers wallet and ID badge. Though that site is currently down, a PDF screen grab details the sexual encounter and promises of a car and recording studio. The headline read:
“NJ Medford Mayor Christopher Myers Hired Me from Rentboy.com… All I got Were Lies & Broken Promises!!!”
Medford is married with two children, and reports from this past October claimed the unnamed escort was paid $500 in California. The Mayor initially denied the charge, saying: “I have no idea who this person is…. Obviously, we’re dealing with a crackpot and someone who is pissed off at me in some way.” (PhillyBurbs.com)
