Portland’s gay magazine closes after 28 years

 

Effective December 26, 2011, Just Out newsmagazine, serving Portland’s LGBTQ community since 1983, is no longer in business.
Three years of recession have taken their toll.

Just Out, the gay magazine of Portland, Oregon announced on Monday that it had shut down for business. A post to its website read:

”Effective December 26, 2011, Just Out newsmagazine, serving Portland’s LGBTQ community since 1983, is no longer in business. Three years of recession have taken their toll.”

The magazine was published by Publisher Marty Davis and Editor Amanda Schurr.
