Capital Pride Festival 2013 [video]

Stars perform at Washington, D.C.'s annual LGBT celebration

The 38th Annual Capital Pride Festival was held in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, June 9, 2013. At 9-hours, it was the longest celebration yet, attracting tens of thousands of LGBT visitors and supporters. Several international entertainers also made appearances. Emeli Sandé, Icona Pop and Cher Lloyd were the headliners who performed in front of the Capitol building on Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Three of RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants participated, too, along with many other acts. There was even a live marriage proposal on stage.

Were you there? Come find yourself in our Scene section, or check out the huge number of people who participated in both the Sunday Festival and the Saturday Parade. It’s one big, beautiful community and Metro Weekly is happy to have documented the experience for you again this year.
