Nellie's Drag Brunch

Be them bottomless, buffet, gospel, or drag, weekend brunch has become a mandated pilgrimage for many Washingtonians. And today, OpenTable has announced that 10 D.C. area restaurants are 2014 Diners’ Choice Award winners for Top 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America.

The local winners are:

Nellie’s has been hosting its popular Drag Brunch since 2010. In a previous interview with Metro Weekly, the hostess for Saturday and Sunday’s brunch Shi-Queeta Lee said, “Even though there are other drag brunches in the city, [people] like ours because [the drag queens] actually wait on the tables. We intermingle with the guests as well as perform.”

This year’s Diners’ Choice Awards for the Top 100 Best Restaurants for Brunch in America were generated from more than 5 million restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014. All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the “brunch” category along with a minimum “overall” rating.
