Save the Date: Get (Crab) Cracking!

Two months after cracking crabs and drafting beer in its hometown’s Inner Harbor, Baltimore events company the Trigger Agency heads down I-95 to present a D.C.-area stop of this pretty quintessential Maryland festival. Set up under huge tents right along the water in that strange enclave of National Harbor, the 5th Annual Crab & Beer Festival centers on an “All-You-Care-To-Taste” presentation of over 50,000 Old Bay-seasoned crabs — offered six at a time per person — and over 50 craft beers served in special mugs, or some great wines and a few spirits.

Also on tap are various family-oriented activities plus live concerts by jam band-style acts Laissez Foure, the Junkyard Saints and the Texas Chainsaw Horns. A slew of eclectic exhibitors will be hawking their wares at the festival, staged in two sessions, one over lunch and one over dinner. As of press time, both sessions are nearly sold out. Saturday, Aug. 16, starting at 11 a.m. On the waterfront at National Harbor, 137 National Plaza. National Harbor, Md. Tickets start at $59 in advance or $70 on-site (if available).
