There are predictions that the winterΒ storm on Friday and Saturday will drop more than a foot — and perhapsΒ even more than two feet — of snow across the D.C. area. In response to this potentially record-breaking event, bars and restaurants are rolling out specials on food and booze:

Carmine’s, the family-style Italian restaurant inΒ Penn Quarter at 425 7th St. NW,Β isΒ offeringΒ 25% off all carry-out orders,Β including its famous meatballs today, Thursday, Jan. 21, through the close of business on Sunday, Jan. 24.

L’Hommage Bistro Francais, at 450 K St.Β NW, is offering happy hour drink specials, including Jameson Irish Whiskey shots for $6, bottled beers for $6, and $10 mussels (with four different preparations to choose from) all day Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.
Β
Station 4,Β in the Southwest Waterfront at 1101 4th St. SW, will be servingΒ beef chili topped with sour cream for $7 and homemade Glogg, perfect for the weather, priced at $12 and available all day on Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.Β

Β
The D.C. area’s first Balkan restaurant, Ambar,Β at 523 8th St. SE, will be offering itsΒ Sumadija hot Tea made with plum rakia, Becherovka liqueur, caramelized sugar, garnished with a cinnamon stick for just $5. TheΒ traditional Serbian hot drink is normallyΒ priced at $10. It will be available all dayΒ Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.
Β
Texas Jack’s Barbecue, at 2761 Washington Blvd. in Arlington, Va., is offering a 2-for-1 side special all day Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.
Β
JR.’s, at 1519 17th St. NW, is hosting anΒ open bar for 5 minutes eachΒ time the snowplow comes downΒ 17th Street all day and night on Friday, Jan 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23. Β On Friday, JR.’s will open early at 1 p.m. and is offering $1Β off all drinksΒ until 4 p.m. when its regularΒ buy 1 get 1 free happy hour happy hour begins. The $1 off deal will continue all day and all night on Saturday.
Β
Should the government shut down onΒ Friday, Jan. 22, guests are invited to enjoy cocktail hour all day at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, at 750 15th St. NW. Offerings include cocktail size sandwiches,Β half-priced oysters on the half shell, as well as half priced signature cocktails, wines by the glass and draft beers. If the snow continues into Saturday,Β Joe’s will offer cocktail hour all day, as well.
Β
City Tap House, atΒ 901 9th St. NW, isΒ serving up a few specials to help comfort you from the snow outside, including cookie dough served in a warm skillet and hot mulled cider spiked with Captain Morgan Rum for $7 each. Both items will be available Friday, Jan. 22 thru Sunday, Jan. 24.
Β
Both locations of the New Orleans’ inspired Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery, location at 901 Pennsylvania Ave., S.E. and at 1515 N. Courthouse Rd. in Arlington, are serving up tasty Cajun turkey chili and happy hour pricing on beers all day on Saturday, Jan. 22 and Sunday, Jan. 23.
