RuPaul’s “What’s the Tee” podcast wins 2018 Webby Award
A number of other LGBTQ creators received awards at the annual ceremony
Already a recipient of two Emmy’s for Outstanding Host for Drag Race, another one of RuPaul’s ventures has become award-winning as well.
RuPaul’s podcast RuPaul: What’s the Tee with Michelle Visage received an award for best host of a podcast or digital audio production at the 22nd annual Webby Awards this week.
In the podcast, longtime friends RuPaul and Visage discuss hot-button issues and interview guests from the entertainment world.

Another winner at the Webby Awards was Canadian internet personality and glamour model Gigi Gorgeous. The transgender YouTuber won Best Film and Video trailer for the YouTube Red original documentary This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous, which documents her rise to fame as well as her transition.
Lady Gaga, who has discussed her bisexuality in the past, won a People’s Voice Webby Award for Music and Best Editing (Film & Video) for her Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two.
Other award winners featuring LGBTQ themes included S-Town for Best Podcast Series, which details the life of a possibly gay Southern Alabama man.
Laura Linney, who will be a part of the sequel to the LGBTQ-themed novel adaption of Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the Cities, won for Best Actress for her role in the Netflix original series Ozarks.
Steven Soderbergh, whose Liberace biopic that was deemed “too gay” to be financed, won Film & Video Person of the Year for his app Mosaic and his film Unsane.
The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and given to those who promote excellence on the internet. For a full list of all categories and nominees, click here.
