After becoming one of the first openly gay medal winners at this year’s Winter Olympics, Adam Rippon traded the ice rink for the ballroom when he appeared on Dancing with the Stars on Monday — and his premiere dance was everything.

Rippon and his partner Jenna Johnson slayed the ABC show with a combination cha-cha and vogue to RuPaul’s “Sissy that Walk,” earning them a 24 out of 30, the highest score of the night.

“You were born to do this show,” panelist Carrie Ann Inaba said. The panel also complimented them for the level of synchronicity the duo achieved in week one of the competition.

In a double elimination, retired baseball player Johnny Damon and snowboarder Jamie Anderson were eliminated by the judges.

Rippon is known for not only being a bronze medalist in figure skating but also for his outspoken protest of the Trump administration. Earlier this year he called out the choice of Vice President Mike Pence to lead the U.S. Winter Olympics delegation, decrying his alleged past support for conversion therapy.

He also rejected an invitation to the White House, previously explaining that he would not visit somewhere that he was “not wanted.”
