When Metro Weekly first spoke with Milo Miles, late last year, the Canadian adult performer was already well aware that crossing the border into the United States could be a risky proposition.
"In Canada, we have pre-clearance," Miles said, referring to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance operation at Toronto Pearson Airport, whereby passengers heading to the U.S. are screened in Canada before boarding their flights, rather than when they land stateside. "They take their job a little too seriously. I have two phones, a personal one and a business one. The personal one usually gets cleared before I cross the border. No Trump memes, for example. Sex work is really frowned upon, and sex work alone is probably reason enough to prevent entry. There are precautions that I take."
An 18-year-old man was arrested at Cedar Point, the storied, decades-old amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, for pulling down the skirt and underwear of a transgender woman.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on May 26. According to a Sandusky Police Department report, a security officer was flagged down by a Cedar Point guest, a transgender woman, who said she and a transgender friend were preparing to leave the park when a man approached her friend from behind, grabbed her skirt and underwear, and pulled them down, exposing her buttocks and genitals.
William Paul, the son of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), apologized after allegedly telling U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) during a drunken confrontation at a Washington bar that he "hates Jews and hates gays."
"Last night, I had too much to drink and said some things that don’t represent who I really am," Paul wrote in a May 13 social media post. "I'm sorry and today I am seeking help for my drinking problem."
The confrontation reportedly occurred late on May 12 at Tune Inn Restaurant & Bar, a popular Capitol Hill watering hole frequented by congressional staffers, lobbyists, and lawmakers.
