The Unfortunate Peace Sign… or Pride covers that might have been

Art director Todd Franson and I chose this year’s Capital Pride cover from about 350 options shot by Ward Morrision, Christopher Cunetto and myself. While Todd and I are confident we made the right choice, we thought you’d enjoy seeing a few of the shots that came very close to taking the top spot.

With this first option, the photograph was nice, the lighting nice and even, but once a logo was put in place, it became apparent, as Todd noted, “the cover is mostly about hands.”
