AIDS Walk Thanks Booz Allen Hamilton

Consulting firm to be recognized with Community Service Award

AIDS Walk Washington, the chief fundraising event for Whitman-Walker Health, the local community health center that specializes in LGBT-sensitive and HIV/AIDS care, will honor longtime supporter Booz Allen Hamilton at its 27th annual walk Oct. 26 at Freedom Plaza.

Booz Allen Hamilton, a management and technology consulting firm, has been a stalwart supporter of the annual AIDS Walk since 2006, raising nearly $100,000 through its employee teams and events. All proceeds from the event go to HIV detection, treatment and prevention services provided by Whitman-Walker Health and its community partners.

”Booz Allen Hamilton and our employees have a strong commitment to the Washington, D.C. community and ending HIV and AIDS,” Reggie Van Lee, senior executive vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton, said in a statement. ”We applaud Whitman-Walker’s longstanding commitment to improving healthcare in our community and addressing the nation’s health challenges. We are proud to organize a team each year, host fundraisers, and to do all that we can to make each AIDS Walk a success.”

Don Blanchon, the executive director of Whitman-Walker Health, praised the company for its dedication to the yearly event.

”For many years the employees of Booz Allen Hamilton have helped Whitman-Walker raise needed funds and create awareness battling this epidemic,” Blanchon said in a statement. ”Every year, Booz Allen Hamilton employees help ensure the largest public event in support of an AIDS-free generation raises vital funds and has powerful presence in our nation’s capital. It will be a fitting tribute to honor Booz Allen Hamilton on the morning of October 26, on Freedom Plaza.”
