Vice President Joe Biden will address the Human Rights Campaign’s Spring Equality Convention later this week, the organization announced Tuesday. Biden will deliver remarks to HRC’s boards, steering committees, staff and volunteers at the convention on Friday.

“Vice President Biden is an incredible ally to the LGBT community and a strong advocate for fairness and equality for all people,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “He has played an integral role in the administration’s unprecedented legacy of progress for the LGBT community and continues to be an important voice internationally for equality. We are honored he’ll be joining us to speak at our Spring Equality Convention.”

Biden, who has been credited with forcing President Barack Obama’s hand on marriage equality by preemptively announcing his support, last addressed HRC in March 2014 at HRC’s Los Angeles Gala Dinner. Biden’s remarks come as he has not yet ruled out running for president in 2016.
