The Junior League Band at the 9:30 Club

The Washington Post once compared D.C.’s Junior League Band to Alison Kraus and Union Station, but its music is more rock and rollicking than that. The comparison stems mainly from the band’s frontwoman Lissy Rosemont, who both sings and plays banjo. Plus, she comes from a prominent fiddler family. But the band’s sound is steeped more in delta blues and early rock than in bluegrass. Saturday, Aug. 13. Doors at 8 p.m. Nightclub 9:30, 815 V St. NW. Tickets are $15.
