Geeks Out launches boycott of upcoming “Ender’s Game” movie

“By pledging to Skip Ender’s Game, we can send a clear and serious message to Card and those that do business with his brand of anti-gay activism — whatever he’s selling, we’re not buying. The queer geek community will not subsidize his fear-mongering and religious bullying. We will not pay him to demean, insult, and oppress us.”

From the Skip Ender’s Game site launched by Geeks Out, a group representing the “queer geek community.” The boycott against Ender’s Game, a science-fiction movie from Summit Entertainment due to open Nov. 1, stems from sci-fi novelist Orson Scott Card’s anti-gay comments and affiliation with the homophobic National Organization for Marriage. Card wrote the novel of the same name that is the basis for the upcoming movie. (skipendersgame.com
