A child’s toy once again took center stage — or, rather, posterior position — in art director Todd Franson’s colorful photograph for 2014’s cover. The adjoining article paid respect to the venerable Highwaymen TNT, a spirited organization that prides itself on its own brand of “trash ‘n travel.” Fun fact: Franson, himself a longtime member and chronicler of the leather community, posed for his own shot, making this one of his rare appearances on a Metro Weekly cover.
