Anais Mitchell at The Hamilton

Anais mitchell s345x230

After opening for Bon Iver at Merriweather Post Pavilion a couple months ago, swoon-worthy indie-folk artist Anais Mitchell stops by downtown’s Hamilton Live on a tour promoting her latest album Young Man in America, offering assessments of her compatriots with a y chromosome. Hopefully she’ll also perform selections from her wonderfully imaginative, powerhouse folk-opera Hadestown, based on the Orpheus myth and released as a soundtrack — featuring Justin Vernon (Mr. Bon Iver) and Ani DiFranco — on DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records in 2010. At the Hamilton her opening act is Cuddle Magic — and doesn’t that name alone make you wanna go to the show? Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton Live, 600 14th St. NW. Tickets are $16. Call 202-787-1000 or visit thehamiltondc.com.
