Purple Roofs overhauls its website

PurpleRoofs.jpgPurple Roofs, which provides detailed information on gay-friendly accommodations from around the world as well as gay-friendly travel agents and tour operators, has updated its website.

The revised site, its first update in eight years, now makes it easier for visitors to search for accommodations by name and location. In addition, the site offers many new or expanded features, including gay travel news articles, a blog, a calendar of LGBT events, discount notices, sweepstakes, and links to Purple Roofs’ Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ pages.

Launched in 1999, Purple Roofs’s site maintains profiles on more than 4,800 bed and breakfasts, hotels, vacation rentals and other properties that are welcoming to gay travelers. The properties are typically smaller, locally-owned and/or -operated, such as the gay-owned Meridian Manor, in Washington, D.C.
