Tina Fey comments on Tracy Morgan’s offensive gay remarks

Tina Fey, star and creator of NBC’s ”30 Rock,” released a statement about concerning Tracy Morgan’s rant against gay people. It’s reported that he said being gay is a choice, that victims of bullying are “whiners” and that he would stab his son if he talked to him in a gay voice. Fey and NBC’s Chairman Bob Greenblatt both said they were glad to hear that Morgan later apologized, but found his remarks “reckless” and “disturbing.” Fey went on to say that Morgan is not known to her to be a hateful man.

”I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian co-workers at ’30 Rock,’ without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket.” (LA Times)

Morgan turned off many gay people in February 2010 when he again claimed that being gay is a choice, then repeatedly said that he didn’t appreciate when homosexuals tried to “suck my dick.”
